The College Wake Championships are heading back to Lake Las Vegas this spring once again for what looks to be the biggest turn out in 5 years.

This spot has been a rider and spectator favorite with 4 days of excitement and the best riding in the country. Texas A&M looks to defend its title after a strong victory last season while a determined ASU squad wants revenge.

Both of these teams will need to step up there game however with the Florida Gators looking to finally show how strong they really are. The Gators boast numerous pro level riders and have been ranked number 2 finishing out the fall. If the Gators bring their top riders, it might be a trip to the podium for them.

Sac State, Chico State, and Western Washington are all lurking in the top 10 as well hoping to create some upsets. Sac State got the boost they were looking for after a big win at the West Coast regionals this season. Hopefully the rough winter won't set them back too far.

The event kicks off Thursday April 14th at 9am with head to head rounds. It's win or your out for the top 16 teams in the country.

Thursday evening will also bring a new event to the weekend. This year we are hosting an opening ceremony to introduce the riders and the teams. The party will be in the pavilion on the lake at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas beginning at 8pm. You will see teams dressed to represent their school and state. All spectators are welcome to attend free of charge and meet the teams.

Friday evening will host the third annual College Wake Awards. This catered dinner requires a ticket to attend but well worth the food and fun. Be there as we announce who the top riders in the country are.

2016 brings a new award with the entries of the College Wake Video of the year. Videographers will submit videos by April 1st to be entered and judged. The top videos will be shown at the awards before the winner is announced.

The College Wake Championships is open to the public and all teams are welcome to participate. There is a "Groupie" package offered for anyone not competing but looking to be a part of all the excitement. The package includes, lunch and dinner, a ticket to the College Wake Awards, passes to all social events and a free event tshirt.

Empire Wake is also offering special rates in the room block for friends and family. This link will be posted here shortly. Please make sure to book through this link to get the special rate.
